No Time to Write? Be Brave Enough to Outsource.

Are you a BRAVE professional with a LOT of balls in the air....er donut holes on her fingers? (Donuts are on my mind--and I blame Beth Karawan, a super savvy and human CX consultant.)

But anyway....the juggle!

Clients and....kids and..... friends and.....fellow parents.... and golden retrievers and....your teenagers math homework......and people selling solar panels at your door......and your editors comments on your book....and the launch of your new online course........ and your MIL popping by.......and that one neighbor in her purple and yellow butterfly housecoat who loves to talk.

This is LIFE.

And if you haven't been living under a flower-painted rock....you've probably OUTSOURCED......

your house cleaning,

your accounting,

your child care,

your grocery shopping,

your car maintenance,

your lawn mowing,

your dry cleaning,

your investments,

your social media,

your scheduling,

your cooking,

your ride to the airport,

your therapy,

.......(need I go on?)

You've outsourced SO MUCH...probably because it's so damn efficient....and it allows you to THRIVE in YOUR zone of genius.

First, let's celebrate that. Well done. You're working SMART.

But now.....YOU KNOW it's time to share your messages, models, ideas, strange thoughts, old dreams, new angles, carrot cake recipes, spelling bee stories with the world via posts, a book, a keynote or a presentation.

Because you KNOW IT LEADS TO MORE OF THE RIGHT CLIENTS. Maybe you want to talk to.....

--Parents struggling to save money for college, retirement and life along the way, like Marisa Menzel, Financial Advisor, RICP®

--Thoughtful companies on the cusp of a CX breakthrough, like Edward Murphy & Beth Karawan

--Impact Investors who care about BOTH Return on Investment & Inspiration, like Ziah Orion

--Corporate leaders who know it's time to look within, like Cynthia Allen

--Business owners who need guidance on letting go of their baby, like D. Erik Porter

--Women who want to take the stage, but sometimes get in their own way, like Lori Robertson 🎤

But MAYBE writing isn't really your thing.

Maybe it makes you want to crawl into that cubby hole in the closet meant for your shoes or the room under the stairs.

So why not OUTSOURCE THE WRITING?

"Look Andrea, that feels inauthentic, snobby, dare I say dilettante-ish."

But what if your feelings were wrong?

(Just kidding. You get to have your feelings.)

But what if you DARED to get curious about that.

What if it didn't have to be icky?

What if there was a WAY TO DO IT filled with INTEGRITY?

We ALL express in different ways. And every single one is valid.

So I hereby give you permission to outsource your WRITING & POSTING.

Not to a VA.

Not to AI.

To someone strategic and snarky (okay, so someone like me.)

You'll STILL comment on posts. You'll STILL engage. You'll STILL get all the credit. WHILE BEING YOURSELF.

I just CHANNEL it FOR YOU.

When you hire the right person, they mine you for YOUR magic, craft YOUR voice, tell YOUR stories, and HELP YOUR MESSAGE RISE.

Why not surrender to THIS EASE?

But Andrea.....How do you make sure you're writing in MY VOICE?

My principles are STF:

Surrender: Regardless of your voice, you must be comfortable adapting their voice to what and how society will receive your message on said platform.

Tone: Flavor: We use your kind of examples, references and metaphors (sailing? movies? donuts? cycling?)

Then once it's locked in place, the writing gets faster and flows even more easily.

But wait, how to pick the right person? Heres' a simple litmus test.

1) Chemistry. You either feel it or you don't. You'll be spending time with this person, so choose wisely. You should feel comfortable and disarmed in their presence.

2) Listening Skills. They must be able to listen for content gems AND reflect back so you can see yourself anew AND ask questions that make you think....hard. Period. No, AI don't technically have ears.

3) Writing Samples. This feels like a 90s term, but I'm not kidding. You need to like their OWN posts if you're going to trust them to write yours. No getting around that. Just a couple will tell you what you need to know.

If you're brave enough to be an INDEPENDENT THINKER, you're brave enough to outsource.

Not sure? Try before you buy, as Amazon says. Just sign up for a LinkedIn LoveFest. It's FREE, far-out, fabulous and other F words too.

I'm in the business of transformation. Moxie. Messaging Manifestation.

Muggles need not apply.

P.S. No, I don't know where to get a racoon sweater like that.

P.P.S. And if you're hellbent on doing it yourself, talk to Michael Scott Overholt, PhD or Elayna Snyder, both awesome writing coaches, DIY-wonders and masters at the creative flow. And read this word of warning by Nora Shepard if you're thinking about hiring a content farm! (i.e. don't do it).
